Reading Resolutions Based On Your Zodiac Sign

Looking for a little guidance on how to shake up your reading? Here, we’ve suggested some reading resolutions tailored to your zodiac sign. No matter when your birthday falls, these strategies are sure to give you a great reading year!

Aries: Go long
Aries, sometimes you can be a little impatient. This might keep you from reading books with high page counts. But these monster-length books can be a whole lot of fun! Why not challenge yourself to a doorstop?

Taurus: Read in new formats
We get it, Taurus, you like your routine. But we think you should shake things up, even just once a month. To do this, we recommend reading in new formats. If you prefer paperback, try ebooks. If you’re attached to your Kindle, go for an audiobook instead. Who knows, you might even like it.

Gemini: Try a new bookish resolution each month
Geminis are full of energy, and we bet you’re already making a list of the various reading goals you hope to accomplish this year. But don’t overload yourself. Instead of trying to tackle everything at once, give yourself one challenge per month. This will ensure that you achieve your goals and never get bored.

Cancer: Practice reader self-care
You have a tendency to be hard on yourself, Cancer. Reading should be enjoyable, but we know that sometimes you beat yourself up over not meeting all of your reading goals. Practice self-care by easing up on your goals and reminding yourself that reading is fun.

Leo: Start a book club
Leos are often leaders. Why not use your powers for good and start a book club? Your temperament and natural authority will help you organize and manage your club, ensuring a great experience for all!

Virgo: Put pen to paper
Virgos can be introverted and quiet, but they’re always watching the world around them and analyzing it. These are characteristics that often go with being a great writer. Virgo, why not deepen your connection to the written word and put pen to paper yourself? You don’t have to wait for NaNoWriMo.

Libra: Make more time to read
Slow down, busy bee. Libra, we know you’re the first to agree to plans with friends, but this also means that you often sacrifice time for yourself in favor of others. Make a point to carve out time to quietly read by yourself each and every day. Turn off your phone, shut out the world, and get lost in a good book.

Scorpio: Let go of the books you’ll never read
Scorpio, we admire your dedication, but sometimes you just need to let things go. Take a long hard look at your shelves and think about donating the books you know deep down that you just won’t ever feel like picking up. Bonus: This leaves more room for new reads that you are excited about!

Sagittarius: Branch out into a new genre
If you’re a Sagittarius, you approach the world around you with abundant curiosity. You love to explore, so why not explore another section of the bookstore or library? We recommend that you check out a genre (or two!) you don’t normally read.

Capricorn: Read more books than ever before
This is a goal-focused year for you, Capricorn. It’s time to be more ambitious than ever in your reading. Set a number, make a plan, and stick to it. We know you can do it.

Aquarius: Get involved
Aquarius, you place a lot of importance on being involved with great causes. There are tons of literary ways to give back to your community, whether you decide to support your local library, donate your books, or fight against book bans.

Pisces: Become a regular library patron
Looking to save money, Pisces? We have an easy solution: Utilize your local library. You’ll have access to more free books than you could ever hope to read and online digital catalogs through Hoopla, Libby, and Overdrive can give you a way to support your library even if their doors are currently closed to the public.
