The Chamber by Will Dean

Looking to cool down from the summer heat with a chilling thriller? Will Dean has you covered with this claustrophobic locked-room mystery. Six experienced divers are hired by an oil company to perform under-sea maintenance, requiring them to live in a locked hyperbaric chamber for a month. All seems to be going smoothly, but when one of the divers is found dead and another dies soon after, the group splinters under the weight of mistrust and fear.

Good Duke Gone Wild by Bethany Bennett

Bethany Bennett’s latest is the first in the Bluestocking Booksellers historical romance series. Caroline Danvers sells books by day and secretly writes erotic novels by night. She can’t help but draw some inspiration for her writing from Dorian Whitaker, Duke of Holland, who hired her to help clean out his late wife’s library. But when a mysterious discovery leads them to spend more time together, the lines between fiction and reality blur.

The Crimson Crown by Heather Walter

Heather Walter returns with the first in a queer fantasy duology that reimagines the “Snow White” story from the perspective of the queen. Meet Ayleth on her journey from living with her coven as a young witch to the quest that sends her to the White Palace, a dangerous place that leaves her unsure of who to trust in order to survive.

The Girl with No Reflection by Keshe Chow

If you’re looking for some new YA fantasy this summer, plan to pick up Keshe Chow’s debut. The night before her wedding to the crown prince, Princess Ying Yue accidentally opens a gateway to a mirror world. On the surface, it’s a place she’s dreamed of—complete with a betrothed who is affectionate and kind. But soon she realizes the dark secrets both the mirror world and the one she left behind are hiding.

Hum by Helen Phillips

Helen Phillips’ dystopian thriller explores motherhood, the bonds that connect us, and technology. After losing her job to artificial intelligence, May agrees to be part of an experimental procedure to make her face unrecognizable to surveillance—for a significant payout, of course. To recuperate, she takes her family on a three-night stay at the Botanical Garden. The one rule: No devices allowed, just family. But when danger threatens their group, May has to step up and find a way to save them.

House of Bone and Rain by Gabino Iglesias

Gabino Iglesias blends crime fiction, horror, and supernatural elements in this tale of four Puerto Rican friends searching for justice as a hurricane nears. When Bimbo’s mother is killed, he vows to avenge her. His friends Gabe, Xavier, Tavo, and Paul agree to help, even as Bimbo’s anger drives him towards more drastic and violent means. But the arrival of the hurricane brings with it chaos: the power goes out and horrifying visions begin to plague the group.

Full Speed to a Crash Landing by Beth Revis

Beth Revis kicks off a new novella trilogy with this action-packed space heist. A lack of air in scavenger Ada Lamarr’s spacesuit nearly does her in while exploring a shipwreck. Luckily, she’s rescued by government agent Rian White and his salvage crew team. Rian is on a classified mission that he doesn’t plan on informing their surprise passenger about, but he soon realizes that Ada may be the only one who can help him succeed.

Ash’s Cabin by Jen Wang

Young adult readers who fell in love with Jen Wang’s The Prince and the Dressmaker will be thrilled to learn of Wang’s latest release: Ash’s Cabin. Upon learning that their parents plan to sell their late grandfather’s ranch, Ash sets out into the Northern California wilderness to find their grandfather’s secret cabin.

Second Tide’s the Charm by Chandra Blumberg

Exes are reunited in this contemporary romance. Marine biologists Hope Evans and Adrian Hollis-Parker find themselves in close quarters for the summer when Hope lands a job on Adrian’s shark research boat. It’s been three years since their long-distance relationship came to an end, and memories of the good times together start to return once they’re at sea together.
